Industrial Affiliates Program
Feb 26, 2013
The Department of Computer Science is excited to announce the kick-off of its Industrial Affiliates Program. Handel Information Technologies Inc. in Laramie is the department's first industrial affiliate. Even Brande, President and CEO of Handel IT is pictured here with Jim Caldwell, head of the Computer Science Department. The program will link prospective employees with students and faculty in the Computer Science Department. There are two levels of participation. Partners contribute a modest fee to the department excellence funds will be given access student organizations and a database of student resumes. Members will have their logos displayed on the Affiliates web-page and will have advertisements for internship and full-time positions distributed to all Computer Science students.
Affiliates program fees will sponsor department activities for students and faculty for which there is currently no other source of funding. Some of these activities include sponsored trips for students to programming contests, attendance at regional and national conferences for students and faculty, and invitations to outside speakers to visit UW. There will be a yearly affiliates meeting where representatives from partner companies will be able to meet students and faculty and get an inside view of research in the department. Partner companies are invited to submit senior design projects for inclusion in a portfolio form which students can choose their projects. For more information about the program, see the web-page http://www.uwyo.edu/ceas/csiap/ and feel free to contact Professor Caldwell by phone (307)-766-5190 or email email@example.com.
