Obtaining an Account
For windows accounts, use your UWSTUDENT account.
Graduate Accounts
All COSC graduate students are allowed an account on the department UNIX servers.
Undergraduate COSC Student Accounts
All COSC, MIS, and CPEN majors of Junior standing are allowed an account on the department UNIX servers. Accounts are normally created after drop/add has ended. You will not be able to receive e-mail at this account. All e-mail will be redirected to main campus mail servers. Freshmen and Sophomores must ask for an account.
Graduate/Undergraduate Non-COSC Accounts
You will be granted an account only for use in Computer Science courses. Your account will last until the end of the course, after which it will be removed. Also, all e-mail for this account will be redirected to the campus main mail servers.
Account Removal
Normal
Your account will be deleted after you have graduated or are no longer a student in the Computer Science Department. In both cases, the registration list will be used to check on the validity of the account.
For Cause
If you are in violation of University of Wyoming, Engineering College, and/or Computer Science policy, your account will be terminated. If needed, material will be turned over to the proper authorities.
