Program Objectives
The following are the measurable objectives for graduating computer science students (Standard I-1):
- OB1: Apply the fundamentals of computer science to solve software-oriented computing
problems.
- OB2: Communicate effectively within and outside the discipline.
- OB3: Extend their knowledge by independent learning and continuing education.
- OB4: Appreciate the role of computer science in the societal context and appreciate
the importance of ethics in the practice of the profession.
- OB5: Work effectively with others.

Each computer science graduate shall demonstrate:
- CS-OT1: The ability to utilize operating systems and software tools that are similar to
those used in the computing profession.
- CS-OT2: Proficiency in the use of modern and widespread programming languages.
- CS-OT3: The ability to be competitive in securing entry-level software and computer
systems jobs.
- CS-OT4: The capability to analyze, design, and implement software projects comparable
to those found in industry.
- CS-OT5: The ability to describe, and be proficient in, the application of important
computer science concepts.
- CS-OT6: Written, oral, and visual presentations.
- CS-OT7: An understanding of ethics, professionalism, and the role of computer scientists
in society.
- CS-OT8: An understanding of the benefits and skills necessary to engage in independent
learning.
- CS-OT9: Skills to independently learn new computer science material and identify available
resources for additional assistance.
- CS-OT10: The ability to be effective team members.
- CS-OT11: High educational and work quality standards.
