EZ Faculty Search
EZ Faculty Search is a website that supports the application process for a faculty position. One component lets applicants submit their information and check on the status of their application. Another component accepts reference letters for the applicants. The final component allows members of the department to review and comment on the applications, and the search committee to generate the reports needed by the administration.
This software started out in a version specialized for the application process at the Department of Computer Science at UW. Other departments, both inside and outside of UW, were interested in it, so I rewrote it from scratch as a much more flexible application that can manage multiple searches in multiple institutions. Unfortunately, my department did not want to host this application locally, so I turned over the code to Happy Jack Software, my wife's company. She and her people rewrote the user interface and turned it into a spectacular web application. They are also hosting and maintaining it. Consequently, this version of the application is not available under the GPL. However, if you're looking for software to run your faculty search, try out EZ Faculty Search. It's inexpensive, and it works very, very well.
